About Joe Cottam

Joe completed a five year Fitting & Turning apprenticeship in 1968 then worked with William Adams Tractors as a Resident Serviceman. On moving to Berrigan in 1973 he spent five years maintaining Earthmoving plant and equipment for Frank Rennick & Co.

Joe commenced the new business Cottam Engineering Pty Limited in 1978 with clientele from earthmoving and agricultural industries. In 2002 the business commenced manufacturing of Mining exploration drilling rig gearboxes.

Fifty-four of these units were built before the commodities crash and Joe’s retirement in 2015. The CNC equipment has been sold but we are offering our remaining equipment and tooling – much of which is quality machines and tooling purchased from Australian Defence Industries at auctions.

Joe is still at the same address where he is working on the Riverina Screamer.
